Because Corfu is located in the Ionian Sea between Italy and Greece it has a different weather pattern than the mostly windy and dry Aegean. Corfu receives more rain than anywhere in Greece practically but fortunately for most visitors the rain is confined to the winter months. Average temperatures are quite balmy during the summer months but a light jacket or heavy sweatshirt is occasionally called for at night.
