Corfu Arrival The Greek Island of Corfu is in the Ionian Sea or the Italian side of Greece and has three ports and one airport. The islands largest town; Corfu Town, has 2 of the ports; the old and the new and near by, Corfu’s only airport.
Corfu Arrival By Ferry from Mainland Greece The third largest city in Greece, Patras on the Peloponnese or Igoumanitsa just across the the strait on the mainland are the two main approaches to Corfu from mainland Greece. From Athens public buses are available to both these destinations. To Patras a longer ferry journey to Corfu itsself is necessary but a shorter bus ride from Athens and from Igoumanitsa the exact opposite. There are two arrival ports in Corfu Town and some boats will go to all three so enquire as to your choice for disembarkation
The island of Corfu’s third port is in southern Corfu near the village of Lafkimmi, and if traveling from mainland Greece is a closer and a cheaper, quicker option, if your destination is southern Corfu.
Flights To Corfu Popular Corfu receives nearly 50 Charters a day in summer from all over Europe in addition to its regularly scheduled flights. From Athens to Corfu leave via Eleftherious Venizelous International Airport (ATH) at least 3 times a day, but only 2 a day in winter. From Corfu to Thessaloniki twice weekly. Olympic has its own bus and regular taxis are available, the Corfu international airport is only a drive of 10 minutes away.
From Italy To Corfu By Ferry High Speed boats and Catamarans now link Corfu with Brindisi in an incredible 3.5 hours. Strinzis Lines among others allows free stop overs on Corfu on the way to Patras. Before purchasing your tickets you must state this intention at purchase in order to qualify.
