Fruit orchards are found in the inland Ropa valley, which is flat and fertile, as well as a highly-rated 18-hole golf course; to the west on the coast is the very popular resort of Ermones, situated on a lovely bay with pebble beaches, with mountains above the Ropa River estuary; there is a wide range of accommodation here, as well as good tavernas. There are also some rooms and tavernas in the small village of Vatos; Myrtiotissa beach , to the south of Ermones, gets crowded, though the sandy beach has very low-key development.
There’s another sandy bay at Glyfada, with high cliffs above it, and one big hotel along with smaller accommodations;there are two rather loud music bars. The 17th century mountain village of Pelekas has a tower overlooking the sea, with a big hotel over the beach below, some rooms, and a taverna; The resort at Aghios Gordhis, to the south, is the province of the Pink Palace complex, a full-blown tourist place.
